Palmeiras are working to limit the impact of the FIFA window before facing Grêmio on 2 April. The match is at 21:30 Brasília time at Arena Crefisa Barueri in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
According to Nosso Palestra, the coaching staff are closely tracking players away with their national teams and mapping logistics to maximise availability. Among the most favourable scenarios is Jhon Arias, who plays on the 30th and should have time to return and join the squad.
Argentines Flaco López and Giay also look the likeliest to bolster the side, as they fulfil commitments in Argentina, easing travel and recovery.
By contrast, the club's biggest concern involves those on longer journeys. For Uruguay, Joaquín Piquerez and Emiliano Martínez face a more delicate scenario due to distance and the short turnaround.
A similar situation applies to Paraguay's call-ups, Gustavo Gómez, Ramón Sosa and Maurício. The trio could see their returns compromised by physical fatigue and the tight gap between international duty and the league match.
Internally, Palmeiras remain cautious and are weighing alternatives within the squad to cover possible absences. A decision on the availability of those called up should come only on the eve of the game.
