Palmeiras resume training as Vitor Roque reflects on vital equaliser | OneFootball

Palmeiras returned to training on Thursday after their 2-2 draw with Atlético-MG on Wednesday in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The starters completed recovery work inside the Academy of Football, while the reserves trained on the pitch.

With academy youngsters involved, the squad worked through small-sided technical drills. Vitor Roque, who came off the bench to score the equaliser, trained and said: "I am very happy with my goal and to be helping the team again. It is important for me, to gain more confidence to keep helping my team-mates. I hope to continue like this throughout the season." He told the club's website.

He also welcomed the away point, with Palmeiras trailing until the 40th minute of the second half. "It was a very important draw for us, an important point that will help us in the rest of the Campeonato Brasileiro. We tried to win, but it was not possible."

Attention now turns to the Campeonato Paulista, with an away match at Botafogo-SP on Sunday at 20:30. Palmeiras could move closer to qualification for the knockout phase. "It will be a very difficult game as well, we are in a good position in the Paulista and now it is about focusing and continuing to work with great humility. We will prepare well to try to get three more points away from home."

The full squad will train on Friday and Saturday at the Academy of Football before the match in Ribeirão Preto.
