Palmeiras set to host Novorizontino in Paulista final first leg at Barueri | OneFootball

Palmeiras are set to host the first leg of the Campeonato Paulista final against Novorizontino at Arena Crefisa Barueri on Wednesday.

According to Globo.com, formal confirmation is due at the Federação Paulista’s Conselho Técnico at midday on Monday.

Work to replace the Allianz Parque pitch is ongoing. The club hoped to return there for the decider, which would have allowed a larger crowd and revenue, but accepts there is not enough time.

The surface is not yet complete, with the cork layer being installed. Levelling, painting and the positioning of the goals still need to be done.

There would be no opportunity to test the new synthetic surface before the match, and ticket sales for the final must open on Monday.

Novorizontino, with the better campaign, will host the second leg. Kick-off time for the Barueri game will be set by the FPF during the Conselho Técnico. The return is scheduled for Sunday in Novo Horizonte.
