Palmeiras have opened talks over a move for Thiago Almada, who is on the books at Atlético de Madrid, as they look to reinforce for the 2026 season.
According to Nosso Palestra, the club are weighing up a six-month loan proposal with an obligation to buy once the spell ends, and are working to push negotiations forward.
The discussions are considered complex because of the figures involved for both Atlético de Madrid and Almada. The player wants more game time with the World Cup in mind but is not convinced about returning to South American football.
The report added that recruiting in this position was not part of Palmeiras’ initial plan.
Even so, with potential departures, the hierarchy view the ex-Botafogo as a market opportunity to strengthen the squad and accelerate planning. That includes probable negotiations involving Allan, who is targeted by European clubs.
