Palmeiras will face Internacional on Sunday nine with a temporary twist to their kit, as sponsor CIMED will replace its logo with “João e Maria” on the shoulder area to promote new licensed products.
According to Nosso Palestra, the move forms part of the company’s wider marketing strategy after deepening its tie-up with the club through exclusive items for Verdão supporters.
On Thursday six, CIMED will unveil the Kit João e Maria, comprising cologne and liquid soap. The company also plans to launch a new deodorant from the Super line at the end of the month, also under Palmeiras licence.
In March, CEO João Adibe Marques said the relationship with Palmeiras goes beyond a conventional deal, and that president Leila Pereira played an active part in developing the licensed ranges.
This will not be the first time the João e Maria mark appears on the shirt, having featured against Remo on 10 May at Estádio Mangueirão in Belém in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
