Acting Deliberative Council president Leonardo Pantaleão says Corinthians will resume ethics hearings next week and, if required, add further sessions to conclude outstanding cases. According to Meu Timao, he spoke on Monday night after members approved the expulsion of former president Augusto Melo from the club’s roll.

Alongside Augusto Melo, four councillors were due to be judged over the 31 May 2025 events at Parque São Jorge, namely Maria Ângela Ocampos, Mario Mello Junior, Paulo Juricic and Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé. Proceedings were halted when Ocampos asked not to be tried due to a family health issue, a request approved by open vote.

Pantaleão said the delay prioritised the right of defence. He added that the councillor next in line declined to have his case brought forward, which prompted the suspension.

The meeting on eight June may not exhaust the docket, so new Council sessions will be called if needed. He noted that next Monday’s agenda already included eight cases.

Pantaleão said the General Assembly on 20 June, which will vote on proposed statute reforms, will require special attention, and that the Council could resume outstanding hearings afterwards. Any extra dates will be set later, dependent on theatre availability for the sessions.

Asked whether councillors under judgment can vote on their own and others’ reports, Pantaleão said there is no impediment and participation is permitted.
