Referee Andrea Colombo made two serious mistakes in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Parma and Inter Milan.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the experienced referee had VAR to bail him out on both occasions.
Goals from Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram propelled Inter Milan to a comfortable 2-0 victory at the Ennio Tardini.
However, the game, though dominated by the Nerazzurri from start to finish, didn’t lack controversial moments.

Andrea Colombo initially disallowed Dimarco’s opening goal on the stroke of halftime.
Yet, it wasn’t his mistake entirely, considering his assistant, Valerio Vecchi, raised his flag for offside.
However, after a brief VAR review, Colombo overturned his on-field decision, allowing the goal to stand as replays showed Dimarco was clearly onside.
Another controversial moment took place in the second-half stoppages.
Indeed, Ange-Yoan Bonny scored on his return to Emilia-Romagna, but VAR ruled out his strike for a handball in the build-up.
It’s unfathomable that Colombo failed to spot Marcus Thuram’s foul play. But VAR officials were there to correct his errors for the second time.
