Pat Nevin sees a lot of Newcastle United.

The former Chelsea and Everton winger at St James’ Park once again on Sunday.

Newcastle United making it five wins in a row with that 4-1 thrashing of Manchester United.

Pat Nevin now declaring that he is now; “…struggling to see how Newcastle United don’t get a top five spot now.”

It wasn’t just this latest win against Man U, the player turned pundit believing there has been a major transformation at NUFC.

Pat Nevin thinking that the cup final win over Liverpool has taken the players to a whole new level, declaring; “Beforehand, they thought they could win something, now they know they can.”

My personal belief is that whilst winning a trophy after so many years was massive…

I think the fact that it was against our bogey team Liverpool who are champions-elect AND that Newcastle United dominated them the whole game at Wembley, has been such a game-changer.

As Pat Nevin says, the “belief” is now there for all to see.

“I give that [Newcastle beating Man U 4-1] more than a solid win.

“I think I saw something different in Newcastle United.

“I see them quite a lot…but there has been a step up since they won the trophy.

“Every player seems to have improved that bit more.

“There is something about that inner belief.

“Beforehand, they thought they could win something, now they know they can.

“I could pick out any player but Dan Burn looked like a colossus in the [Man U] game, it was extraordinary.
