Villarreal B could receive an unexpected boost for the end of the regular season, and a likely promotion play-off, with PAU CABANES returning to full training.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Burriana-born striker has joined David Albelda’s sessions this week after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee on 20 August during pre-season.
He had spent recent weeks training with the first team, but is now working with the B side and building rhythm. He is training at a high level and is ready to make his debut.
Cabanes, a quick, strong and skilful forward, has been pushing hard in his recovery and reports positive sensations.
Pau Cabanes de la Torre, born 17 February 2005, is registered with Villarreal’s first team, wears 33, and is part of Villarreal B.
His involvement with the B team through to the end of the season has not been confirmed, nor ruled out, though he appears highly motivated in training.
