According to L'Équipe, Red Star chief executive Pauline Gamerre could be in Marseille within hours for talks to take over from Pablo Longoria.

She is on a list of potential leaders identified by Frank McCourt's camp to handle the institutional side of the role. Last week Longoria, 40, was moved out of the sporting remit in favour of Medhi Benatia, and he is not expected to remain president for long.

Gamerre has come close to joining OM several times in recent years.

In August 2021, Nathalie Nénon-Zimmermann was preferred for the deputy CEO post, despite Gamerre being on the shortlist.

The 42-year-old, a former member of the FFF executive committee, was born in Marseille. She could travel to her hometown very soon to meet McCourt's team, though nothing is settled at this stage.
