Paulo Dybala ‘agrees’ Roma renewal as Benfica interest ends | OneFootball

Paulo Dybala has agreed a new contract to stay at Roma, ending links with Benfica, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Argentina forward will remain in the Italian capital with the giallorossi.

Romano reports the negotiations were never in real doubt, and Dybala accepted a pay cut to extend his deal and prioritise continuity.

In January, Corriere della Sera reported that Benfica opened talks to sign the striker as his contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

Those discussions did not lead to a definitive agreement, and staying at Roma was always a strong possibility, strengthened once the club secured Champions League qualification.

With the renewal now in place, Benfica must look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements, while Dybala prepares to continue his Roma career rather than move to the Estádio da Luz.
