Paulo Fonseca unhappy with Endrick’s form as Lyon prepare for Lorient | OneFootball

Paulo Fonseca has voiced dissatisfaction with Endrick’s form at Lyon ahead of the 29th round meeting with Lorient in the French league.

According to Globo.com, the head coach told Friday’s news conference that the forward returned fatigued from Brazil duty and must improve, adding he expects more, needs him at 100 per cent, and that opponents are tightly marking him.

The Brazilian joined at the end of 2025 on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season. He started brightly, scoring five in his first five games, then managed only one in the next nine.

He was sent off against Nantes and faced strong criticism on occasions, including after the match with Angers.

So far he has made 14 appearances for Lyon in all competitions, with five goals and three assists. Before the move, he featured only three times for Real Madrid in 2025/26.

Fonseca said Endrick needs to do more to cement himself as an option and stand out, noting he is paying for a long spell without games before arriving and that playing three times a week has been difficult.
