Paulo Henrique has played down overseas interest and says his attention remains fixed on the Copa do Brasil after Vasco’s 2-1 comeback win over Fluminense in the semi-final first leg.
According to Globo.com, the right-back has fielded enquiries from Italy, Germany and Saudi Arabia, and is under contract with Vasco until the end of 2028.
He said he deals with such approaches so they do not affect him, stressing his focus is 100% on the club and the cup, and that decisions about his future are not his to make.
Asked about next year, he pointed to his contract, said he is very happy at Vasco, and added that off-field matters are for his representatives and the club.
Called up by Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s last two squads and named the Campeonato Brasileiro’s best right-back, he has played 57 matches this season, scoring five and assisting eight.
The second leg is on Sunday at 20:30 at the Maracanã. Vasco hold the draw advantage and, if they progress, the finals are set for 17 and 21 December against either Corinthians or Cruzeiro.
