FC Barcelona manage to overcome Real Sociedad and take the top spot on the La Liga table. However, this was far from a vintage Barça performance but Hansi Flick’s side still managed to make a valiant comeback.

Goals from Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski ensured that the Catalan giants came away with a 2-1 victory at home. However, there were some heroes on the pitch who did not score but were arguably even more important than the goalscorers.

Here are the player ratings for Flick’s team.

Player Ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny: 6.5

Hardly tested during this game, and only had to make one save. In terms of his ball distribution, however, he seemed solid enough despite misplacing a few passes here and there.

Jules Kounde: 8.0

Solid defensive performance and he also managed to get the goal that initiated Barça’s comeback in this game. However, could have done better during the play that ended up with Real Sociedad scoring.

Ronald Araujo: 7.5

Some brave defending from Ronald Araujo managed to minimise the damage that Real Sociedad were able to inflict on the team. Moreover, he was quite composed in terms of his ball progression as well.

Andreas Christensen: 7.5

Acted as a second carrier of the ball when needed, and it helped out his midfielders a lot in terms of opening up spaces. Moreover, his passing was almost impeccable in this game as well.

Gerard Martin: 7.0

Got beat a few times but also held his ground quite well. Did just enough to ensure that his side of the field was not left exposed and he could continue helping out both defensively and offensively.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.0

A passing masterclass from the Dutchman, who also created some big chances for his teammates with his vision. Moreover, his ability to carry the ball forward enabled a lot of positive progression for Barcelona.

Pedri: 8.5

Simply on another level in this game. As he has done all season, Pedri once again put on a masterclass in this game and outplayed the opposition. From his passes to his ability to use his silky feet and get away from pressure, the Spaniard remains in a league of his own.

Roony Bardghji: 7.0

Tried to outmanoeuvre the Real Sociedad defenders but had a mixed game. Despite some positive moments here and there, the young winger ultimately was not too effective in this game.

Dro Fernandez: 6.5

His quick feet was nice to watch, but he was ultimately not too impactful. He also seemed to rush things a lot at times, and that is not always a good thing considering the difference Dani Olmo was able to make later on.

Marcus Rashford: 7.5

The English winger was once again eager to make a difference, and managed to do so with an assist to Jules Kounde. Energetic performance from the English forward.

Robert Lewandowski: 8.0

A bit quiet at times but popped up when needed. Scored yet another header to help Barcelona complete the comeback in this game. However, he should have scored more goals.

Substitutes:

Dani Olmo: 7.0

Brought some much-needed composure near the attacking zones, and helped enable those around him to play with more freedom.

Lamine Yamal: 8.0

His long-awaited return finally arrived with his inclusion in the squad and Lamine Yamal did not disappoint once he came on. Within minutes of being on the pitch, he provided the assist to Robert Lewandowski for his goal and one that ensured Barcelona got all three points. He also scored but it was disallowed due to a marginal offside.

Eric Garcia: 6.0

Solid came for the Spaniard.

Ferran Torres: 8.0

Created some good opportunities for himself and should have had an assist for the chance he created for Lewandowski.
