Corinthians face São Paulo at 16:00 on Sunday in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista, the first clássico of the campaign for both sides at Neo Química. According to Meu Timao, Pedro Raul could yet play a part as Corinthians seek to respond to the setback against Red Bull Bragantino.
Back from a productive loan at Ceará, the striker is trying to convince Dorival Júnior he deserves chances and, possibly, a decisive role.
Four years ago, while at Goiás, one of his standout displays came against São Paulo. On 23 July in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, he set up the opener then, in stoppage time, struck the equaliser to seal a 3-3 draw.
Goiás finished that season 13th on 46 points, yet Pedro Raul impressed with 19 goals and two assists. He ended as runner-up in the scoring chart and was named by the CBF among the competition’s best forwards.
The following year he could not sustain that level, underperforming at Vasco in the first half and Toluca in the second. Since 2024 his rights have been held by Corinthians, for whom he has so far made 41 appearances, with four goals and two assists.
