Pep Guardiola admits he is unsure what the future holds for Rodri following the Manchester City midfielder’s recent comments.
The midfielder admitted in a recent interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero that he would like to return to Spain before his career finishes.
Guardiola suggested the club are keen to keep Rodri beyond the end of his contract, which expires at the end of next season, but would not offer any assurances.
“No clue, no opinion because I don’t know the intentions,” Guardiola said when asked about the comments.
“I know the intentions of the club, I know the intentions, I think, of him, but I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola insisted he is not concerned by the form of Phil Foden of late.
“Nothing, zero,” he said when asked if he had any concerns. “He’s 25-years-old, six Premier Leagues. He’s won a lot of things and his contribution to what we have done is incredible and what happened is a normal process in a long, long, long career. It’s a normal situation.
“At the moment he will click, it will turn and he will be back to what he is.”
