Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City have no other option but to keep going after losing ground on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Man City were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, despite twice taking the lead at the Etihad Stadium.

Antoine Semenyo continued his impressive start to life in Manchester by breaking the deadlock just after the half hour mark, but Morgan Gibbs-White equalised 11 minutes into the second half.

Rodri restored Man City’s lead, from a corner, shortly after but Elliot Anderson levelled things up for a second time as Forest clung on for a point to boost their hopes for survival.

As for Man City, they now trail leaders Arsenal by seven points after the Gunners battled to a 1-0 win away at Brighton.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Guardiola said his side - who have played a game fewer than Arsenal - must continue in hope there are more twists and turns in the title race.

“Disappointed for the result, we did everything again, we did not concede much and we had chances at the end especially and during the game as well.

“We keep going.

“[The players] tried to do their best, when you see how they run but of course, in a game at home and at this stage of the season it’s important, but keep going.

“We don’t have time to look back, so look forward.

“Now it’s on to Newcastle in the FA Cup, then Real Madrid in the Champions League. Game by game.

“We are used to playing in a lot of competitions and we will go for that game, there are a lot of game to play so we have to continue.”
