South African international Percy Tau grabbed an assist for a second game in a row as his side, Nam Dinh, beat Bangkok United 4-1 in the ASEAN Club Championship.

Lucas opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time for the Thai champions, before the Bafana international set-up Nguyen Xuan Son four minutes into the second half.

Tran Ngoc Son made it 3-0 in the hour mark, before Wisarut Imura pulled one back for the home team in the 85th minute. Nguyen Xuan Son completed his brace in stoppage time.

As a result, Tau's side sits at the summit of Group B, having accumulated nine points in three matches. Nam Dinh are on course to advance to the semi-final of the competition.

The top two teams in both Group A and B will square off in a knockout stage format after the group stage matches.

Meanwhile, the former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns forward has now provided three assists in 13 matches across all competitions and is yet to find the back of the net.

Tau's contract with Nam Dinh is set to expire in June 2026 - and it remains to be seen whether he will stay put in Asia, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on horizon.
