Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has made a strong first impression at FC Bayern – and now there are growing signs of the Munich club’s long-term plans for the talent
Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is currently attracting a lot of attention at FC Bayern. The 18-year-old made his debut in the away game against FC St. Pauli and impressed in a short space of time. Now the focus is already turning to his future
The midfielder was loaned out by Gambinos Stars Africa in January and has been training regularly with the professionals for several months. His first appearance also came about because squad places became available at short notice. Lennart Karl was absent through injury and Serge Gnabry also did not make the trip to Hamburg due to knee problems
Ndiaye made the most of his chance, coming on as a substitute in the closing stages and impressing with his composure on the ball, overview and courage in forward play. His performance was also very well received internally
„You could see that he’s brutally talented,“ said Leon Goretzka. Eberl added: „He got into the game really well. You couldn’t tell he was nervous.“
The 18-year-old is part of the „Red & Gold Academy“, FC Bayern’s international development project, which aims to identify talented players worldwide and introduce them to the top level
However, the question of the youngster’s future is particularly exciting. Ndiaye is currently only on loan until the summer. Due to regulations, he cannot be used for the second team, which makes his match practice even more difficult
According to the Münchner Abendzeitung, FC Bayern are nevertheless leaning towards signing Ndiaye permanently in the summer. A loan could be the next logical step to give him sufficient playing time
