A pundit says Chelsea now have a ‘phenomenal footballer’ within their ranks who can score ‘dirty little goals’.

I am really not sure what a ‘dirty little goal’ looks like but I can only assume that it is the type of goal that is not always pretty, one you have to fight to bundle in or get over the line. One you might have to score with your head.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in talks with Red Bull, Oracle, and a third company over new Front of Shirt Sponsors!!

In fact, that is exactly what former goalkeeper Ben Foster is talking about when speaking about Chelsea attacker Joao Pedro this week.

Foster has not retired from the game after briefly coming out of it recently to play for Wrexham as he helped them climb the leagues. But Foster had a decorative career before that and played for clubs such as West Brom and Wolves, as well as a backup stint at Manchester United.

I do like him as a pundit now and he’s always quite entertaining to listen to, running his own regular podcast talking about the game at the top level.

On his YouTube channel [cited by Blue Footy on X], Foster said this week:

“What I like about Joao Pedro is he can score a lot of different goals. He scores a lot of dirty little goals.

“It’s him as a character… He doesn’t mind getting his head stuck in. Phenomenal footballer.”

Chelsea have made a very random hire to their team of scouts. They’ve taken on Greenock Morton player-coach Gary Woods as their new goalkeeping scout this week in an interesting hire to say the least.

Enzo Maresca has been criticised a lot for not using young defender Josh Acheampong enough so far but the Blues boss was quick to point out that he’s actually used Josh over senior defender Tosin Adarabioyo a few times.
