Sunderland’s unbeaten home run ended in the Premier League after a second-half Habib Diarra own goal against Arne Slot’s Liverpool at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

According to Sunderland Echo, Phil Smith rated goalkeeper Robin Roefs at six, disappointed not to get a hand to the corner for the goal, though he made good saves and his kicking was often tidy.

Nordi Mukiele earned seven, unable to capitalise on promising openings but Sunderland’s most persistent attacking threat, with strong energy and diligent recovery runs.

Dan Ballard was given six after a stern duel with the impressive Hugo Ekitike, enduring difficult spells but largely coping, while he had one or two half chances in the opposition area.

Omar Alderete also scored six, largely secure on the ball aside from the odd lapse, almost locating Brian Brobbey with clever passes from deep and remaining defensively robust.
