Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday evening made known their collective anger with the officiating during the club’s latest outing.
This comes owing to developments in the buildup to the 2nd goal netted by Atlético Madrid against the Blaugrana.
The headline fixture of the La Liga weekend is of course currently being played out in Spain’s capital, between Diego Simeone’s Atléti, and Hansi Flick’s Barca.
It is the former who currently boast the advantage when it comes to the scoreline, owing to goals on the part of attacking pair Julián Alvarez, and Alexander Sørloth.
And though their side have since pulled one back to set up a grand stand finish at the Metropolitano, those of a Barcelona persuasion have not been at all shy in making their frustrations known.
*Update* – Barca have now levelled things up at 2-2.
As much comes after their side’s appeals to have Atlético’s 2nd goal of the clash ruled out fell on deaf ears.
In the buildup to substitute Sørloth’s close-range finish, an attempted Pedri pass was cut out by the hand of Rodrigo de Paul.
After being checked by those in the VAR room at the Metropolitano, however, it was decided that as much was not enough to overrule the goal, leaving the away fans nothing short of livid.
