Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was pictured arriving at Carrington on Monday morning in the company of his agent, after he was dropped from the matchday squad that faced Newcastle on Sunday.
United fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat at St James’ Park, with Altay Bayindir in goal, in what was his first Premier League appearance.
Hours before kick-off, it emerged that Onana had been omitted from the matchday squad following his errors in last week’s Europa League meeting with Lyon at the Groupama Stadium.
The Cameroonian was at fault for both goals the Red Devils conceded, first misjudging Thiago Almada’s free-kick before then parrying a shot into the path of Rayan Cherki, who drew his side level in stoppage time.
Onana’s howlers came off the back of a bitter war of words between himself and former United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Ruben Amorim insisted that his decision to axe Onana was to help him “disconnect” and clear his head after a difficult few weeks. In addition to enduring a shambolic game vs. Lyon, the 29-year-old’s wife, Melanie, was the victim of a street robbery in Alderley Edge.
In his post-match presser after the loss to Newcastle, Amorim refused to confirm whether or not Onana would be recalled for the return leg with Lyon on Thursday.
Now, The Sun have published images of Onana arriving in Carrington with his agent.
The newspaper confirms that the person who was in the car with Onana was a representative of his agency, Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports.

The purpose of his agent’s presence remains unclear, though it is presumed to be related to Onana’s future at Old Trafford amid ongoing transfer speculation.
A report covered by The Peoples Person over the weekend claimed that United are prepared to part ways with the shot-stopper for just £20 million – a significant loss from the £47 million they paid to land him from Inter Milan two years ago.
Realiable journalist David Ornstein noted that Onana recently changed representation, initially with the aim of negotiating an improved contract. However, with mounting pressure at United, a move to a new club could now be under consideration.
