Barcelona’s future kit plans are already creating a buzz, and the latest leak has only added to the excitement. 

According to recent revelations from Footy Headlines, the club’s 2026/27 away and goalkeeper kits are set to follow a bold and emotionally driven design concept, one that pays tribute to a global icon.

The most striking element of the upcoming collection is its connection to the legacy of Kobe Bryant. 

The Mamba collaboration

Barcelona and Nike’s ongoing collaboration with the Mamba brand is expected to continue into the 2026/27 season, bringing with it a powerful message. 

The iconic quote, “Leave the game better than you found it”, will reportedly feature on the collar.

From a visual standpoint, the away kit is built around a purple and black base.

It incorporates a gradient effect that transitions smoothly from a darker upper section into a vibrant purple lower half. 

The choice of “Field Purple” directly resonates with the colours associated with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This gives the kit a modern, almost reflective appearance, ensuring it catches the eye under stadium lights.

Alongside the outfield kit, the goalkeeper version introduces a contrasting concept. 

The rumoured design features a darker, stone-like grey base combined with black logos, creating a more understated but textured look. 

However, there are already questions about its practicality.

Given the similarity in tone to the main kit’s darker elements, visibility could become an issue, which is why alternative colourways, including yellow and black, are also expected to be used more frequently.
