Pierre-Antoine Diatta Dorival handed two-year ban after incident with match official | OneFootball

Pierre-Antoine Diatta Dorival, on loan from OL to Stade Briochin, has been handed a two-year suspension for an act of brutality against a match official in the National game between Saint-Brieuc and Versailles, Le Progres reports.

The 20-year-old Senegalese midfielder is under contract at OL until June 2028, though the decision relates to his loan spell.

Developed at Dakar Sacré-Cœur’s partner academy, he joined Lyon in summer 2024. He trained with the first team several times and made 21 reserve appearances, playing six National three matches last season. He moved to Stade Briochin on loan in autumn 2025, with National now called Ligue three.

On 15 May, the final day of the league season, he came on and was sent off. The central referee reported that the player went head to head with him, then gripped his lower back and pinched him forcefully.

That account was not corroborated by the assistant referees or the match delegate, who said they saw nothing live, and the footage did not show the incident clearly. Despite those gaps, the disciplinary commission ruled in late June on the basis of the referee’s report alone.

It is not known whether the player has appealed. He declined to comment on the commission’s decision or any potential steps by the club, and the ban could jeopardise his OL future, with two years left on his deal.
