Pisa ‘to try’ to secure Neal Maupay on loan | OneFootball

Neal Maupay could have a route out of Marseille, with Pisa SC linked with a loan move as he struggles for minutes.

Foot Mercato reports that the Serie A club want to try to secure the 29-year-old on loan, although the outlet has previously said he is comfortable with his current situation.

Maupay returned to France in the 2024 summer window from Everton FC as an emergency signing after Faris Moumbagna’s injury.

Across his first six months he led the line for Roberto De Zerbi ahead of the struggling Elye Wahi. Even so, Marseille moved for Amine Gouiri in the winter window and Maupay dropped to the bench.

The picture darkened in the summer with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s return and academy forward Robinio Vaz emerging. He has since slipped down the pecking order, featuring for only a minute in Ligue 1.

His only start this season came in a 6-0 Coupe de France win at third-division Bourg-en-Bresse.
