With one eye on the team’s CONCACAF Champions Cup game next Wednesday against Nashville SC, Javier Mascherano lined up the Herons in a heavily rotated side that featured five Homegrown players.

Considering the squad was without two of its best players, Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul, the result was fair.

There were plenty of chances, though the Men in Pink tended to falter in the final third.

Despite the result, the opportunities given to several youngsters throughout the match to impress should be seen as a positive.

Here are Player Ratings from Inter Miami’s draw vs. Charlotte.

*I’ll rate every player on a scale of 1 to 10, with 5-6 being average/below average. For the substitutes, I’ll judge accordingly. *

Rocco Rios Novo - 8.4: Yeah, had the save of the game to keep Miami in it. Rocco Blocko does it again.

Sergio Reguilón - 6.7: Pleased to see him back out there after suffering a nasty injury during pre-season! He looked up for the start, attacking well and getting back defensively in time.

Noah Allen - 7: Good showing from the Homegrown. Didn’t make many mistakes and was in lockstep with Gonzalo Lujan to stop any dangerous Charlotte attacks.

Gonzalo Lujan - 7.6: Strong showing from the Argentine! Did well to hold off Charlotte’s more physical forwards and didn’t get caught too many times defensively. With Maxi Falcon out for an extended period, performances like this instill confidence.

Ian Fray - 7.4: Yes. Great showing today, offensively. And defensively, he got back well. No notes!

Midfield

Mateo Silvetti - 7.2: Did his best! Got into a great goal-scoring position, but couldn’t quite connect on goal.

David Ayala - 7: Pleased to see him get the start! He looked solid on the ball and facilitated well in the middle of the field. Would love to see him get a run -out alongside Rodrigo De Paul and Yannick Bright. His skill set would bring even more balance to Miami’s midfield.

David Ruiz - 6.8: Ruiz was one of the five Academy products that Miami started tonight, which should put a smile on the face of any Inter Miami fan. That said, though there were a few nervy moments with him on the ball, he still managed to help keep a clean sheet.

Santiago Morales - 6.9: I hope he continues to get more playing time over the course of the year. Though he’s still young, there are glimpses of great vision, sound technical ability, and an eye for a final pass that can’t be taught. He looked solid out there.

Attack

Luis Suarez - 6.5: Glad to see him back out there and getting minutes. Though he wasn’t on the score sheet, his experience was much needed in a starting eleven filled with youngsters.

Daniel Pinter - 7.1: Did well during his first start! Stretched Charlotte’s back line well and got into decent goal-scoring positions. Keep in mind, Pinter is only 18 and will get better from there!

Cesar Abadia-Reda - 6: I’m just happy some Inter Miami CF II player got a chance! Though the substitute was late in the game, the minutes are valuable.
