On Sunday, Lazio and Bologna played out an entertaining draw at the Stadio Olimpico. Gustav Isaksen broke the deadlock for the home side in the 38th minute by pouncing on the rebound, but his fellow Dane Jens Odgaard replied in similar fashion just two minutes later.

So let’s take a closer look at the performances of Maurizio Sarri’s men in our player ratings.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 6

The Italian goalkeeper pulled off back-to-back saves on Jens Odgaard and Tommaso Pobega, but perhaps he could have done better on Nadir Zortea’s shot which instigated the equalizer.

Adam Marusic – 6.5

Aside from giving the ball away inside his own area on one occasion, the Montenegrin was reliable as ever at the back. His switch to the left flank frustrated Riccardo Orsolini. He also played an integral role in the opener.

Mario Gila – 5

It was a commanding showing at the back from the Spaniard until he caught Santiago Castro and followed it up with dissent, which earned him a straight red card.

Alessio Romagnoli – 7

The former Milan captain produced another stellar display. With his cool and collected approach, he guided his teammates towards safety after being reducing to 10.

Nuno Tavares – 4

A torrid 45 minutes for the Portuguese, who was the main culprit in Bologna’s equalizer, as he allowed Zortea to easily skip past him. He was also left stranded by Orsolini on several occasions, so Sarri removed him at the interval before causing further damage.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6.5

Another dynamic outing from the Frenchman, who ran more than anyone else on the pitch. He instigated Isaksen’s goal by picking up Marusic with a clever through ball.

Danilo Cataldi – 6

A decent showing from the experienced Regista on his surprisingly early return from his injury. Did well to shield the backline and kept the ball rolling.

Toma Basic – 6

The Croatian put on another solid shift, helping Lazio boss the middle of the park for the bulk of the contest.

Gustav Isaksen – 6.5

The Dane squandered an early chance but made amends by latching on to the rebound to score the opener. Left his place on the pitch for Cancellieri after the break under mysterious circumstances.

Taty Castellanos – 6

As always, the Argentine was happy to chase every lost cause. He should have gotten an assist when he set up Isaksen brilliantly, but the latter’s finishing let him down. He was hooked at the hour mark due to the lack of fitness.

Mattia Zaccagni – 6.5

Although his peformance lacked a marquee moment, the Lazio captain was inspirational as ever. He had Zortea scrambling every time he had the ball at his feet, with the Bologna full-back often forced to commit a foul. His attempted shot directly led to Isaksen’s goal.

Substitutes

Manuel Lazzari – 6

An obvious upgrade on Tavares. The Italian full-back didn’t have too many attacking forays, but at least held his own at the back.

Matteo Cancellieri – 6

A dynamic second half from the returning winger who almost scored with a header.

Tijjani Noslin – 6

The Dutchman wasn’t as relentless as Castellanos, but he combined well with his teammates as he continues to grow on Sarri.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – N/A

Patric – N/A
