At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Maurizio Sarri and several Lazio stars bid the club farewell with a win over Pisa.
Stefano Moreo scored the opener for the visitors against the run of play, but Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Pedro turned the result upside-down in the space of two minutes. The Biancocelesti thus headed to the interval with a slim lead, and they were able to maintain it until the final whistle.
Here are our player ratings for Lazio, who will end their campaign in ninth place after a 2-1 victory over the relegated Pisa.
Alessio Furnaletto – 7
The third-choice goalkeeper could do nothing about Moreo’s opener, but pulled off a jaw-dropping save to prevent Samuele Angori from doubling Pisa’s lead.
Adam Marusic – 6.5
A positive display from the experienced right-back who burst forward more than usual. Almost broke the deadlock for Lazio, but his shot hit the outside of the post.
Mario Gila – 5.5
The Spaniard wasn’t expected to start, and he perhaps shouldn’t have, given how he was pulled off due to an injury yet again at the interval. He tried to block Michel Aebischer’s cross on the opener, but misjudged the height of the ball.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6.5
The former AC Milan captain was reliable as ever at the back in what could well be his final appearance for his beloved Lazio.
Luca Pellegrini – 6
The Italian left-back wasn’t the culprit on the opener, but he couldn’t prevent Aebischer from delivering the assist. He was largely reliable at the back, but offered little going forward.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – 7
The Nigerian showcased his technical attributes by scoring the equalizer with a brilliant turn followed by a clinical shot. He looked comfortable and solid in midfield.
Toma Basic – 6
The Croatian played as a makeshift Regista in the absence of all other options, but he performed a decent job, as he kept the ball running and shielded the backline.
Reda Belahyane – 6.5
The Moroccan was dispossessed just before Pisa’s opener, but made amends by creating the equalizer for Dele-Bsahiru. It was an encouraging display all in all.
Matteo Cancellieri – 5.5
The Italian winger had his highs and lows this season, but his campaign ended with a forgettable display. Came close to scoring in the early minutes, but faded as the match progressed.
Tijjani Noslin – 6.5
Another dynamic outing from the versatile forward who played in all three attacking roles. His movement gave Pisa’s defenders headaches. While he often lacked the final touch, he provided the assist for Pedro.
Pedro – 7.5
The legendary attacker was determined to bow out with a goal. He came close after 10 minutes, but was denied by Adrian Samper. However, he prevailed on his second attempt, showcasing his undying clinical finish.
Oliver Provstgaard – 6.5
A solid and composed display from the Danish defender who didn’t have an awful lot to do, but made the necessary interventions whenever required.
Boulaye Dia – 5.5
The Senegalese international combined well with his teammates, but he still lacks the killer edge that a striker must possess.
Daniel Maldini – 6
The Atalanta loanee had a positive impact and tested Samper with a low drive in the final minutes. He will most likely return to Bergamo in the summer.
Manuel Lazzari – N/A
Adrian Przyborek – N/A
