Plymouth Argyle striker Owen Oseni is proving to be a gem in the making, and could follow in the footsteps of teammate Bim Pepple.
Plymouth Argyle's strike partnership of Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple have been the subject of interest thanks to their exceptional form in 2026, but the Pilgrims may have a third forward on the brink of success at Home Park.
Tom Cleverley has performed a miraculous turnaround in the second half of the season, lifting the Devon-based side from relegation candidates to genuine play-off contenders.
Much of this success has been down to the stunning form of both Tolaj and Pepple, who've mustered a whopping 28 league goals between them, making the duo one of the most feared partnerships in League One.
However, both players have faced injury setbacks throughout the campaign, which always comes as a serious blow to Argyle, given how crucial their contributions are to the team's success.
Despite this, third-choice striker Owen Oseni has proven to be a more than capable deputy when either Tolaj or Pepple are unavailable, and he could well be the next breakthrough star in this ever-improving Pilgrims squad.

Cleverley hasn't had it easy in his first season at Home Park. A plethora of injuries to key players throughout the season have sometimes left him fighting with one hand tied behind his back.
Despite their impressive goalscoring numbers, strike duo Tolaj and Pepple haven't been immune to injury setbacks either, with the former facing multiple lengthy stints on the sidelines, the latest of which he's just returned from.
Taking such a potent goal threat out of a team would usually have a knock-on effect on results, but that hasn't been much a problem for Argyle, who've got the perfect deputy waiting in the wings.
Oseni joined Plymouth in the summer for a reported fee of £60,000 from St Mirren. Many expected him to be a rotation player who could develop into a regular starter over time, which has proven to be true.
Having featured sporadically for Argyle throughout the campaign, the Irishman re-entered the fold in a crunch match against play-off rivals Huddersfield Town in late March, where he netted his first goal since December in a crucial 3-1 win for the Pilgrims.
Whilst he didn't find the net in the next match against Bolton Wanderers, Oseni certainly put himself about, and his attitude was rewarded on Easter Monday, as he scored a brace and chipped in with an assist in a 3-0 victory over Barnsley.
With Tolaj and Caleb Watts slowly getting back to full fitness and Pepple absent from Argyle's trip to Oakwell due to a minor injury, they needed someone to step up in what is a crucial time of the season, which Oseni did emphatically.
He became the third striker in the Plymouth squad to reach double figures in goals across all competitions, and given the rise of his two strike colleagues, the 22-year-old could be the next in line to enjoy a breakthrough spell at Home Park.

Had you told an Argyle fan on January 1st that their side would be sitting one place and two points off the play-offs with five games to go, many of them would've laughed in your face — the turnaround from Cleverley has been sensational in the second half of the campaign.
Some sensible business in the January transfer window coupled with the development of players already at the club has allowed the former Watford boss to implement a clear identity which his side desperately lacked going into 2026.
This has rightly garnered interest from other clubs in some of Cleverley's top players, with both Tolaj and Pepple touted for a move away in the summer should the Pilgrims fail to gain promotion to the Championship.
Celtic have been heavily linked with a summer swoop for the Argyle duo, which would come as a huge blow to the Devon-based club if both of their star strikers were prised away from them at the first opportunity.
However, all may not be doom and gloom for the Greens, as Oseni has proven in recent weeks that he's following a similar trajectory in his development to Pepple, who also took a while to get going at Home Park.
The Irishman was signed as a rough diamond that Cleverley and his coaching team could develop into a top striker, which is exactly what happened with his Canadian colleague over the course of the season.
Oseni is already showing flashes of his talent, and as he continues to learn both in training and game scenarios, then the 22-year-old will undoubtedly follow in the footsteps of Pepple.
Whilst there's plenty of chatter regarding the futures of Tolaj and Pepple beyond the summer, Argyle will be licking their lips at the prospect of repeating the latter's success with Oseni in the near future.
