Paul Pogba says Manchester United are parting with a “great player” as Marcus Rashford edges closer to completing his loan switch to Barcelona.
The England international is expected to spend the season at the Camp Nou, with the Spanish giants covering the full cost of his wages during the deal.
Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he scored four goals and supplied five assists in 17 games across all competitions.
One of five players labelled 'The Bomb Squad' at Old Trafford - along with Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia - Rashford has been sidelined by United manager Ruben Amorim and last played for the Red Devils in a Europa League tie against Plzen last December. "The new manager wants to do his thing"
However, speaking in an interview with YouTuber IShowSpeed, Rashford's former team-mate Pogba believes the forward still has plenty to offer.
"(It's) crazy, but I'm happy for him because they took his number. Manchester United are losing a great player, unlucky for them.
"It's great for Barcelona to be honest. I'm not even talking about United, because they've bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess.
"It's not really his (Amorim's) fault, if he doesn't believe in someone. He needs to win. If he doesn't win they're going to sack him."
Pogba joined AS Monaco on a free transfer this summer, as the 32-year-old French midfielder looks to revive his career at the Ligue 1 club following a doping ban.
