While the final result was a tough one to take, the energetic performance shown against Porto on Thursday should serve to motivate us this weekend.
We are going away to face WSG Tirol. Kick-off is on Sunday 28 September at 14:30 at the Innsbruck Tivoli. Wattens, with nine points so far, are doing very well compared to previous years, and have only suffered one defeat in six matches (their match against Sturm was postponed), with two wins and one draw at home. Interestingly, a defensive midfielder has established himself as the top scorer, with captain Valentino Müller already netting five times, including last week's 1-1 draw against Altach.
Last season, WSG took a point from us in both of their regular season matches, and this Sunday we can expect a very defensive-oriented performance from the Tyroleans, against whom we will have to find offensive solutions. Incidentally, the match between us (24 years, 77 days) and WSG (24 years, 111 days) is the match between the teams with the youngest average starting XIs this season. Whether supporting us in the away sector or at home on Sky Sport Austria – we need all the support we can get on Sunday afternoon - when a spirited performance against FC Porto should inspire us to three more points in the league

On Sunday, it will obviously be a very different game for us than our last one against FC Porto in the Europa League, with completely different circumstances and conditions. However, it will be crucial that we approach this encounter with the same tactical discipline, the same energy, and the same passion as we did at home against Porto. That is the basic requirement and also the benchmark we have set for ourselves. It is clear that, after our recent results in the league, that we absolutely have to get points on the board.

The Tyroleans have started the season really well and have only lost one match in the league so far. They will certainly come out with a lot of confidence and demand everything from us. It's important for us to recover well after the intense Porto match, from which we'll take many positives, so that we're fresh and determined again on Sunday, because we'll need that to be successful.
