Nicola Zalewski is aiming to return from injury in next Sunday’s Serie A clash between Atalanta and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that Federico Dimarco could be back for the international break.
Inter Milan are still riding out an injury crisis in the wingback position.
Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, and Nicola Zalewski are currently absent. Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto only just returned from a calf problem, coming off the bench against Monza on Saturday.
In the meantime, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has had to turn to emergency solutions.
Denzel Dumfries played much of the second half of Inter’s Serie A match away to Napoli on the left flank.
Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni started the last two matches as a makeshift left-wingback.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel for Inter in terms of this injury crisis.
Darmian will still be on the sidelines for a few weeks. The former Manchester United and Torino veteran is targeting a return on the other side of the international break.

But January signing Nicola Zalewski is getting close to being back.
The Polish international – currently on loan from Roma – won’t be available against Feyenoord.
However, reports the Gazzetta, Zalewski is targeting a return against Atalanta next weekend. Inter travel to Bergamo for a huge potential Serie A title-decider.
Then, the Gazzetta reports, Federico Dimarco could also hope to be available for that match.
And then, the newspaper notes, Dimarco could also be part of the Italy squad during the international break.
