La Gazzetta dello Sport notes that the ‘poor and physically drained’ Scott McTominay embodies Napoli’s emergency as the Partenopei prepare to face Chelsea in the Champions League.
Napoli suffered a 3-0 away defeat at Juventus on Sunday, slipping nine points below table leaders Inter.

Antonio Conte was forced to cope without ten first-team players due to an injury crisis that has dragged on for several months now.
“The image of what’s happening to the Azzurri is that wonderful midfielder named McTominay, a phenomenon even from an athletic standpoint,” Gazzetta wrote on Monday via TuttoNapoli.

“The poor Scott is physically drained, out of energy, he would need to skip a match, play just 15 minutes in another, yet on Wednesday he’ll have to be back on the pitch again against Chelsea, in a match that’s worth a place in Europe.”
Conte warned on Sunday that Napoli’s injury crisis won’t end anytime soon and asked for fans’ support in one of the most difficult moments of the season for the Partenopei.
