It was an eventful night for Claudio Ranieri and his men, less than 24 hours prior to the first leg of the Europa League playoffs with Porto.
As reported by Il Romanista, a few hours before the match against Anselmi’s Porto, a large group of opposing fans decided to disturb the sleep of the Giallorossi players.
The Portuguese supporters were seen setting off several firecrackers (repeated explosions were reported throughout the night) near the hotel where Roma are staying in Portugal, all from 3 am onwards.
The same “strategy” was adopted by AZ fans before the match in Alkmaar, prior to Roma’s 1-0 defeat.
