Borussia Dortmund go in search of their first win of 2025 when they host Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon. Mike Tullberg will name his first line-up as interim head coach following the dismissal of Nuri Sahin following their 2-1 defeat against Bologna in midweek. Against Bremen, Dortmund may make up to four changes.
One being a defensive one with Ramy Bensebaini returning ahead of Julian Ryerson, with Pascal Groß at right-back. Felix Nmecha is a mainstay in midfield now but with Emre Can absent, Marcel Sabitzer and Julian Brandt could be selected ahead of Gio Reyna and Maximilian Beier.
Julien Duranville is also another candidate to be dropped in place of Karim Adeyemi but with Napoli’s pursuit of the latter, Tullberg could opt to play Beier in a wide position with Serhou Guirassy leading the line.
As for Werder Bremen, Felix Agu and Keke Topp remain sidelined while Niklas Stark has picked up an injury which should see Milos Veljkovic make just his sixth Bundesliga start of the season.
Bremen’s Marco Grüll has been in excellent form of late with four goals and one assist in his last four league games and against a Dortmund side that has conceded 10 goals in four games in 2025, will feel confident ahead of their trip to the Signal Iduna Park.
