Newcastle United looking to follow up these last three wins, in the Champions League against Benfica, Premier League against Fulham, then most recently on Wednesday against Spurs in the League Cup.

So can Eddie Howe’s side make it four victories in a row?

If so, it would also mean six wins in their last seven games for Newcastle United, in all competitions.

As a reminder, this was the Newcastle team v Spurs on Wednesday:

Ramsdale, Krafth, Schar, Thiaw, Burn, Tonali, Willock, Ramsey, Barnes, Elanga, Woltemade

Eddie Howe gave an update on Friday, regarding injury and availability for this Spurs match.

Yoane Wissa, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, all still working their way back from injury. Hall seemingly the closest to making a playing return, though he won’t be competing for a start in this West Ham match.

Eddie Howe saying no new injuries from the Spurs match, a game where he made eight changes to his starting eleven.

This is my predicted Newcastle team v West Ham:

Pope, Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn, Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton, Gordon, Woltemade, Murphy

If proved correct, this would mean seven changes.

IN:

Pope, Trippier, Botman, Bruno, Joelinton, Gordon, Murphy

Ramsdale, Krafth, Schar, Ramsey, Elanga, Willock, Barnes

My reasoning is quite simple on this one.

I think the Newcastle team v West Ham will see Eddie Howe put out what he currently considers is his very best available team.

Newcastle have Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday but I think the plan will be to try and blow West Ham away and if all goes to plan, be in a winning position that will allow Eddie Howe to then sub off some key players from around 60/65 minutes, to save their legs for the Champions League game.

I am not saying that this will automatically happen, Newcastle easily winning, but I do think the plan will be to go full strength and get at the Hammers from the very first whistle. West Ham have been shocking this season and look to have so little confidence. Eddie Howe going out to try and get that early goal to get control of the match.

A lot of good performances on Wednesday night but Eddie Howe will be ruthless, in my opinion.

I think that amongst those set to be unlucky in dropping back to the bench today will be Fabian Schar. He reminded us against Spurs just how good he is in defence and the goal threat he carries, but especially for me his passing and bringing the ball out of defence. However, Botman and Thiaw have been really good together and having a right/left combination will also sway it in favour of Botman returning.

Elsewhere, I think the first choice midfield trio will automatically play, the same with the trio up front, in my opinion anyway.
