Although the likes of Arsenal are also closely monitoring Huijsen’s progress, Real Madrid still remain one of the potential suitors for the young defensive gem, who is currently plying his trade for Bournemouth.

Amid speculation, AS journalist Joaquin Maroto claims that Huijsen is a huge fan of Real Madrid and loves the club. Effectively, he is a Madridista to the core.

Maroto adds that Real Madrid have take a decisive step in the race to sign the Bournemouth defensive gem.

The club had even invited the defender’s father to the Valdebebas, an offer that he didn’t refuse either.

This, coupled with Huijsen’s love for Real Madrid, puts Los Blancos in a favourable position in the race to sign the Spaniard this summer.

Huijsen’s potential arrival at Santiago Bernabeu could add some much-needed fresh blood in Real Madrid’s defensive department.

In fact, the defensive combination of Huijsen and Raul Asencio could shape a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu, although it remains to be seen whether or not Real Madrid can capitalise on their early moves to complete the signing of the Bournemouth starlet in the summer.
