Premier League leads nominations for 2025 Ballon d’Or, Kopa & Yachine Trophies

The Premier League produced the joint-most nominees in the newly released shortlists for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, Kopa Trophy and Yachine Trophy awards.
The English top tier produced 14 nominations, the same as the Ligue 1, for the Ballon d’Or, the Kopa Trophy and the Yachine Trophy.
Arsenal pair Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice, Liverpool quartet Florian Wirtz, Alexis McAllister, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, Manchester City striker Erling Braut Haaland, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer were all nominated for the Men’s Ballon d’Or.
Ousmane Dembele, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jude Bellingham, Desire Doue, Denzel Dumfries, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, Harry Kane, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Robert Lewandowski are also among the nominees.
Lautaro Martinez, Scott McTominay, Kylian Mbappe, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Pedri, Michael Olise, Raphinha, Fabian Ruiz, Vinicius Jr and Lamine Yamal complete the list.
Chelsea’s Estevao and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly were nominated for the Kopa Trophy men’s award, alongside Real Madrid’s Dean Huijsen and Paris Saint-Germain pair Desire Doue and Joao Neves.
Other nominees are Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, Porto starlet Rodrigo Mora, and Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Estevao or Lewis-Skelly could become the first player playing in the Premier League to win the award. Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo came third last year.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, Arsenal’s David Raya, and Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels are among the nominees for the Yachine Trophy.
Yassine Bounou, Lucas Chevalier, Thibaut Courtois, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jan Oblak and Yann Sommer are the other nominees.
Alisson was the first-ever winner of the award, while Martinez has won it most times (two) and is the current holder.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Botafogo, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are the contenders for the Men’s Club of the Year.Liverpool manager Arne Slot and his Chelsea counterpart Enzo Maresca are in the running with Barcelona’s Hansi Flick, Napoli’s Antonio Conte, and PSG’s Luis Enrique for the Men’s Team Coach of the Year Trophy.
The winners in various categories will be announced on September 22.
