Derby County welcome harlton Athletic to Pride Park on Tuesday evening for matchweek eight of the EFL Championship, with the match kicking off at 20:00 live on Sky Sports Football.

The Rams head into the fixture after a 1-1 draw away at Wrexham on Saturday, a result that leaves them with five points from their last three away games. However, County remain in the lower reaches of the table, sitting fourth from bottom with six points from seven matches.

Charlton, meanwhile, arrive in strong form, moving up to seventh place after a convincing 3-0 win over Blackburn at the weekend.

The last meeting between the two teams ended with Charlton Athletic winning 2-1.

The Fan Zone

Cory Hancock (The Rams Review Podcast): The Rams return home to face the Addicks after a disappointing trip to Wrexham. On face value, the Rams come away from Wales with a point but the performance was yet again insipid and uninspired.

Manager John Eustace has a quick turnaround to try and right this worrying run of form with a home crowd backing the team. However, the home form has left a lot to be desired recently and there are precious few positives to build from.

Eustace has a lot of credit in the back after saving the Rams from relegation last season, however, results (and performances) have been poor. There are no calls for the managers job at this point in time, but it wouldn't surprise if they start in a few weeks if the form does not pick up.

American Patrick Agyemang started his first match for Derby against Wrexham, I'd expect him to start again. Ben Brereton Diaz scored a wonderful equalizer at the weekend. He has not been great for Derby since signing (albeit a small sample size) but hopefully this goal is a change of fortune. Derby need a spark and hopefully he can provide it.

Charlton have been doing well so far this season and I expect them to give Derby a very good game. I think this has a draw written all over it.

Prediction: 1-1

Stuart Court (Cafc Facts and Stats): After 7 points from their last 3 games, Charlton head to Pride Park in fine form and are looking to extend their fine start to the season. With 3 games in a week, expect changes especially with Josh Edwards going off injured early in the First Half but what the other changes will be is anyone’s guess

Charlton’s record at Pride Park is not great, though they did get a 2-1 win in their last visit there back in February 2024, which was Nathan Jones’s first win as Charlton manager

Another point in my opinion before they head up to Preston North End on Saturday

Prediction: 1-1
