Hull City and Charlton Athletic at the MKM Stadium this Saturday in the EFL Championship.
Both sides come into the clash in fine form, with Hull sitting seventh on 18 points after a 2-1 victory over Leicester City, while Charlton occupy fifth with the same points, having beaten Ipswich Town 3-0 in their last outing.
The teams’ most recent meeting ended in a 1-0 win for Charlton, adding an extra edge to this eagerly anticipated encounter.
Joe Collins (To Hull and Back Podcast): WE CAN WIN WITHOUT McBURNIE!!
Now we've proven that against a team just relegated from the Premier League, put the bets on us going up!
That's a joke, obviously, but that Leicester performance felt brilliant.
Everyone is buzzing for Liam Millar. 363 days after his injury, getting his second goal for the club - it felt great. And then we built on it, grabbed a second, and defended well in the second half when the inevitable Leicester pressure arrived.
Injuries: Coyle, Akintola and Giles all had knocks coming out of Tuesday and are all fit to play. Brandon Williams will be back involved having built his fitness up in a series of Under-21s games, Mo Belloumi and John Lundstram could be back in training in the next week or so and be ready to return for Portsmouth. And that leaves Oli McBurnie - likely to be missing again as a precaution.
Charlton and ourselves are joint 2nd in the form table over the last five or six games, only behind Coventry I believe. I said going into the season that they shouldn't be written off as some were because I really like Nathan Jones as a manager. So far, they are proving me right.
It'll be an even contest, a difficult one for us against their back 5, but I believe that we can beat them.
Prediction: 2-1
Stuart Court (Cafc Facts and Stats): After a statement victory at Portman Road on Tuesday night, Charlton head to Humberside for a game against a team also in good form.
Sonny Carey is looking one of the bargains of the season already and as Charlton’s leading goalscorer will be looking to increase his tally
Another 3 games in 8 days may see more changes as Manager Jones admitted last week that he may have got it wrong the last time we had this many games in a week and Charlton lost at Preston.
A draw in my opinion would be a good result and an end of a superb week
