Leeds United Women return to Garforth this Sunday, facing Blackburn Rovers in an FA WNL Division One North clash at the Bannister Prentice Stadium.

The Whites are coming in off the back of a 2-2 draw with Wythenshawe, where Chloe Dixon scored a first half brace to have Leeds in the driving seat before a last minute equaliser for the hosts shared the points.

Prior to that result in Greater Manchester, Simon Wood’s side were held to a 2-2 draw in the North East by Norton & Stockton Ancients, maintaining the team’s unbeaten start to the FA WNL Cup campaign.

Blackburn, on the other hand, are still searching for their first points this season. Most recently, Rovers fell to a 4-1 defeat on home soil to Stockport County.

The last meeting between the sides came in April 2014 in a 1-1 draw. Carey Huegett was on the scoresheet for the Whites, alongside Blackburn’s Nichol Forster.

Action from the Bannister Prentice Stadium gets underway at 2pm.

The view from inside the camp:

Ahead of the clash, Whites and ex-Blackburn winger Chloe Dixon said: “We want to kick on and start to turn one point into three.

“I feel like we haven’t reached our best yet but hopefully that starts on Sunday. I’ve got nothing against Blackburn at all but I’m Leeds now and I want what’s best for the team.”
