Sheffield Wednesday welcome QPR to Hillsborough this Saturday in the Championship.

The Owls will be hoping to build on last weekend’s 2-0 win at Portsmouth as they look to secure back-to-back league victories.

QPR, meanwhile, arrive on the back of three consecutive league wins and will be eager to keep their winning streak alive on the road.

The Fan Zone

James Mappin (The WTID Podcast): I don't think many people expected us to beat Pompey last time out. A real coupon buster. We're back at Hillsborough this weekend and looking to pick up our first home win of the season. Three games at home so far. Three defeats and no goals scored is a bit of a concern.

We have to take the positives from the win last week though. It was a different type of performance. It was a battle and something we've not seen from this side in a long time. We're going to struggle when the games start coming thick and fast, but they've had a week to rest for this one.

I'd go with the same side that won last weekend. If it aint broke, don't fix it as they say. Ernie Weaver was fantastic on his debut at centre-back and George Brown bagged himself a debut goal at the other end.

Things may be looking up - certainly on the pitch anyway.

Prediction: 2-1

Ben Platt (W12 Podcast): We head into this one riding some genuine momentum. After a rocky start to the season, QPR have strung together three straight league wins - the latest a tight 1–0 triumph over Stoke City thanks to Harvey Vale’s strike. That form gives hope that the squad is now hitting a stride just when we needed it most, especially going forward which we have some exciting talent. Confidence is rising, and the cohesion in attack is beginning to show signs of payoff - with Kone, Burrell, Koki Saito and Vale all posing real threats.

But make no mistake: this won’t be a stroll. Sheffield Wednesday will be desperate to turn their season around after an inconsistent start. Their 2-0 win over Portsmouth was their first of the campaign - a result they’ll cling to for belief. At home, the Owls often galvanise under pressure, and we know how dangerous they can be when backs are to the wall. Beyond that, historical head-to-head stats suggest this is a tight matchup - and Wednesday are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the R’s.

So for us, it’s about continuing our counter attacking approach, being disciplined, and taking our chances.

No new team news for the R’s. Kwarme Poku, Ilias Chair and Jake Clarke-Salter are all still out until after the international break.

Prediction: 0-2
