Eintracht are determined to win maximum points when they host FC Augsburg at Deutsche Bank Park on Bundesliga Matchday 14, the team’s 24th home game of 2025.
As things stand
Eintracht Frankfurt go into their final home game of 2025 on Saturday, having contested their last European fixture of the year in Barcelona on Tuesday. The Eagles may have lost 2-1 against the reigning Spanish champions, but the team’s performance at Camp Nou should give them confidence ahead of the last two Bundesliga games before Christmas.
“We showed that we’re a strong unit and I hope we can underline that in our last two games of the year,” said Arthur Theate in the mixed zone in Barcelona. Nathaniel Brown also asserted that Eintracht could “go away with a good feeling”, adding, “we have to show this level of commitment not only against the top teams, but in every match – whether it’s against Barcelona or this weekend against Augsburg.”
“Make sure we’re clinical with our chances”
“We want to win both of our games before the winter break,” said board member for sport Markus Krösche. “First up, we’ve got Augsburg at home. That will obviously be a very different game and we’ll see a lot more of the ball. We’ll have to make sure that we’re clinical with the chances we get.”
Manuel Baum took over from Sando Wagner as Augsburg head coach ahead of last weekend’s Bundesliga home game against Bayer Leverkusen, and his side put in a good display in a 2-0 victory.
“The Bundesliga is the most important competition for us,” said Eintracht head coach Dino Toppmöller. “We’ve got a game coming up against a team with a new coach that beat Leverkusen last weekend. This will be a very different match in which we will have to defend well and be good in our transitions. On Saturday we’ll be the team that has to take control of the match and create opportunities.”
Home record in 2025
The Eagles are seventh in the Bundesliga standings ahead of hosting 14th-placed Augsburg on 13 December. It will be Eintracht’s 24th competitive game of the year Deutsche Bank Park, following 12 wins, three draws and eight defeats. With that in mind, Toppmöller is determined “to make sure we take all three points and finish 2025 on a positive note with – and for – the Eintracht fans.”
