PREVIEW: World Cup qualification all but secured for Spain as they host Türkiye | OneFootball

Spain will be looking to seal a spot in next year’s UEFA World Cup as they host Türkiye tonight at La Cartuja in Seville.

Luis De Le Fuente’s side are guaranteed automatic qualification to the World Cup across the United States, Canada and Mexico should they get at least a point against Türkiye in their last Group E match, but even a loss would require a staggering 14-goal swing in order for their visitors to leapfrog them into first place.

They welcome Türkiye following a 4-0 victory over Georgia on Saturday, extending their run to 30 matches unbeaten in international football.

Spain are unbeaten in their last five meetings against Türkiye, most recently winning 6-0 in Konya back in September.

The hosts will be without five key players. Pedri, Rodri, Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal alongside Dean Huijsen will be absent due to injury.

The visitors will be looking to get even when they visit Seville and hope to come away with a win.

A win for Türkiye would still see them finish as runners up in Group E due to the enormous goal difference between the two sides; that is unless they win by seven goals at least.

Türkiye will travel to Seville unbeaten in their last two games in Group E; they defeated both Bulgaria 2-0 and Georgia 4-1 prior to this toughest of tests.

They will be without İsmail Yüksek after he picked up a second yellow card in the 89th minute against Bulgaria meaning he will be absent for their last qualifying match. They will also be without Kaan Ayhan due to injury.

The match will kick off at 19:45 GMT and won’t be available terrestrially in the UK, but it is available on the Amazon Prime Video PPV service.
