Wrexham and Bristol City clash this Wednesday at the STOK Cae Ras (The Racecourse Ground) for matchweek 17 of the EFL Championship.
Wrexham have won 22 points to date and are placed in 14th position. Last time out, Phil Parkinson's team drew 0-0 against Ipswich Town (EFL Championship 2025/26).
Bristol City currently have 26 points and lie in 4th position. In their last fixture, Gerhard Struber's team won 3-0 against Swansea City (EFL Championship 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Bristol City winning 1-0.
Craig Jones : A battling performance on Saturday saw us come away with a well earned and valuable point away at Ipswich Town.
That made it six games unbeaten in the league and saw our third consecutive clean sheet.
Defensively we continue to look a lot more solid and harder to beat than at the start of the campaign.
Wednesday night brings another stern test in the form of a team also challenging for promotion - Bristol City.
We have met The Robins many times in the league in the past, but this will be our first game in over 20 years.
They have started very well under new manager Gerhard Struber and sit just four points behind the automatic promotion places.
Apart from a couple of freakish results against Oxford and Stoke, overall they have been one of the strongest sides so far.
Only one defeat away from Ashton Gate means that Wrexham will have a difficult task ahead against the visitors.
We're suffering a bit of an injury crisis at present, which many teams have to deal with during a season. Kieffer Moore and Liberato Cacace are likely to miss out again along with a few other players.
The one game suspension of Lewis O'Brien probably means we'll start with exactly the same XI as on Saturday.
Matty James, Ryan Barnett and Nathan Broadhead are possible options to start though.
I'm not confident enough to predict a win and can see the points being shared here, but it could go either way!
