PSG are trying to keep hold of the core group of players who have just won their second Champions League trophy in a row – and they’ve made a good start to the summer on that front.
A report from Fabrice Hawkins at RMC Sport says that versatile young midfielder Senny Mayulu is about to sign a new contract in Paris which will commit his future to the club until 2031 in the face of interest from teams like Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Despite not being a regular starter for Luis Enrique in the biggest games, Mayulu is an invaluable asset to the group. He featured 41 times last season, and managed 11 goal contributions. A versatile academy graduate, he gives you everything you could want as a player.
Mayulu’s current deal expired a year from now, meaning it was vital to secure him on fresh terms. Luis Campos will be delighted to have this issue squared off so he can get back to work on adding depth in other areas, and to getting the best value for those players who are going to leave.
Warren Zaire Emery is a key player for PSG – but he’s spoken about the heartbreak of not being picked to play against Arsenal from the start.
Ousmane Dembele had to leave his boyhood club to join PSG, although he doesn’t regret it at all.
