The queue for Chelsea target Matheus Cunha is getting longer and longer.

The attacker is impressing at Wolves, despite playing in a struggling team, and whether they are relegated or not this season, it looks like they’ll cash in on the Brazilian attacker in the summer.

CaughtOffside today have an excusive which has added a few new interested parties to the list. We already knew Aston Villa and Tottenham were in the mix, with both looking to add a tent-pole attacker in the summer. But now the names of Manchester United and PSG are thrown into the mix too.

It makes sense – those are big glamorous clubs but they’re also looking to add some grit. Cunha has shown he’s got plenty of that, and there’s a feeling that his game could really be elevated if he played with some top quality players around him.

Last week we wrote about Cunha’s £62m release clause, which makes him a tempting option for many teams. With so many potential bidders, the price it takes to buy him may now end up actually going above that level.

As we wrote at the time, we’d love Chelsea to consider buying Cunha. He’d certainly make a much more natural replacement for Nicolas Jackson when he’s out than Christopher Nkunku. For all of the Frenchman’s talents, we’d feel much more comfortable in this afternoon’s game against Aston Villa if we had Cunha leading the line instead.

However our sporting directors may feel that the 25 year old is already too old for their project.

We are very curious to see how this saga develops – if Cunha finishes the season on a hot streak we could yet see even more teams added to this suit of suitors.
