Paris Saint-Germain added Ilia Zabarnyi to their defence over the summer, however, they may look to further reinforce this sector next summer.
Zabarnyi is seen as the long-term successor to Marquinhos, whilst at left-centre-back, Willian Pacho has been indispensable. However, Luís Campos and PSG are attentive to market opportunities. The UEFA Champions League champions have long since been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, however, Fabrizio Romano now reports that they are also attentive to the situation of his compatriot, Dayot Upamecano (27).
Like Konaté, Upamecano’s contract is up at the end of the season. As confirmed by Max Eberl, Bayern Munich are trying to get the Frenchman to extend his current deal. However, should the France international become a free agent in the summer, PSG would be interested in signing him.
However, Romano adds that there is also interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs. Upamceano will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with another club from January.
