PSG, Chelsea, and Liverpool compete to sign Tomás Araújo

Tomás Araújo (23) is a target for Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Liverpool, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Chelsea and Liverpool have both missed out on signing Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen, who, ultimately, will join Real Madrid at the end of the season. Both clubs are therefore looking at Araújo, Foot Mercato understands. However, the Benfica defender would not come cheap. With a contract running until 2029, he has a release clause valued at €80m.

As well as the interest from the Premier League, there is also interest from PSG. It is possible that Marquinhos, the longest-serving Parisien in the squad, could leave the Parc des Princes this summer. Regardless, a centre-back is targeted by Luís Campos, whose own future at PSG remains uncertain.

PSG are yet to submit an offer for Araújo, although he has been identified as a target. Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté have also been cited as targets.
